Dunham House is celebrating the installation of a commercial greenhouse on its site and the space is already playing an important role in the launch of a new Therapeutic Horticulture program.

Dunham House is a registered charity and non-profit organization that serves as a residential treatment centre specializing in addiction and concurrent mental health disorders. Located in the Eastern Townships, Dunham House offers counselling sessions, a number of therapeutic activities, and comprehensive workshops to help meet the needs of its residents. It is the only facility of its kind that operates in English in Quebec.

Don Joyce, former executive director and now an advisory board member for Dunham House, explained to CIDI that the greenhouse project and the Therapeutic Horticultural program was made possible through a generous donation from someone that wanted to support the mission of Dunham House.

CIDI was invited to Dunham House on Tuesday for a tour of the greenhouse where we spoke with Joyce and newly appointed Executive Director Victoria Della Porta about how the space and the new Therapeutic Horticultural program is benefitting residents.
