The Quebec Liberal Caucus held a press conference at the Centre Culturel St. John in Bromont last Thursday following a three-day retreat where a number of federal MPs came together to discuss the issues and concerns affecting constituents in their riding.

In an interview with CIDI following the press conference, MP for Brome-Missisquoi and Minister of Canadian Heritage Pascale St-Onge explained that federal representatives haven’t met or discussed together since the House of Commons adjourned in June. With that in mind, she decided to invite the Quebec Liberal Caucus to Brome-Missisquoi where elected officials worked together to address the needs of Canadians.

With the next House of Commons session scheduled for Sept. 16, Minister St-Onge emphasized that she and other Quebec federal MPs will now be able to “bring back what they heard in their ridings” and start implementing “solutions and measures that will help them directly.”

Highlighting some of the issues affecting Brome-Missisquoi citizens, Minister St-Onge noted that the cost of living, including high rental prices and the cost of groceries, and the impacts of climate change on the environment are top of mind for constituents in her riding.
