CIUSSS de l’Estrie CHUS recruits foster families to meet demand for foster care in the region

The CIUSSS de l’Estrie CHUS is recruiting foster families to help meet the need for foster care in the region.

The CIUSSS de l’Estrie CHUS is putting a call out to the Eastern Townships community as the regional health authority recruits foster families to meet the need for placements in the region for youth between 0 and 17 years old.  

Elyse Paquette, the promotion and recruitment agent for foster families in the Estrie with the CIUSSS de l’Estrie CHUS, told CIDI that the health authority is currently seeking 110 foster families to help meet the demand for foster care throughout the region, including in the local health network of La Pommeraie. 

Paquette noted that another factor contributing to the need for more foster families is the fact that there are a number of people “that are getting closer to retirement” after years of providing foster care to children in need.
