Bolton-Est is celebrating the inauguration of its new permanent structure at Terrio Park, one of the many projects that are a part of the future development of the municipal park.
Mayor of Bolton-Est Vinciane Peeters explained to CIDI that the new structure is replacing the white tent that the municipality assembled each summer to host the public market, cultural events, and community activities in order to provide residents with a more comfortable space where they can gather all year long.
Peeters noted that other projects have already taken place in Terrio Park, such as a play area for children that was put together by volunteers, and the municipality wants to continue building on this momentum by developing the park in harmony with other spaces and attractions in the municipality.
The project was funded by the MRC of Memphrémagog, which contributed $150,000 through the Regional and Rurality Fund as part of its policy to support projects to improve living environments, and MAPAQ, which contributed $50,000 through its Proximité initiative.
