The blood sampling service at the CLSC in Knowlton is being offered once again after the CIUSSS de l’Estrie CHUS decided to move ahead with a partial return to services at the establishment starting Oct. 15.
According to Audrey Perron, assistant director of vaccination, screening and sampling operations for the CIUSSS de l’Estrie CHUS, the blood sampling service will be available at the CLSC in Knowlton on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Brome Lake residents must make their appointment through Clic Santé and choose amongst the 80 time slots that will be made available each week through the portal, she said.
In terms of the other routine nursing services that were previously offered, which also included follow-ups on medical procedures and the changing of bandages, Perron noted that they are available at the CLSC in Cowansville for the time being.
The partial return to services at the CLSC in Knowlton follows the CIUSSS de l’Estrie CHUS’s decision to close the establishment throughout the summer period due to staffing shortages. The CLSC was closed in June and it was originally expected to re-open on Sept. 9, but the local health authority announced that it would remain closed until mid-October.
CIDI interviewed Perron and Mayor for the Town of Brome Lake Richard Burcombe about the partial return to services at the CLSC in Knowlton.
