Conservation organization Appalachian Corridor and Veritech have teamed up to launch a new interactive book series entitled Curieux de nature to raise awareness amongst youth around the importance of protecting the environment.
Aimed at children between 4 and 10 years old, Curieux de nature explores themes such as Quebec’s biodiversity, ecosystems, ecological connectivity, and how species interact with their natural habitats through a number of educational games, said Mélanie Lelièvre, executive director of Appalachian Corridor.
Lelièvre noted that the goal behind the project was to invest in an educational tool that engage youth in conversations around the environment and nature in order to build “a new generation” that finds solutions to address environmental challenges.
CIDI spoke with Lelièvre and Paul Beullac, President of Kinesis Education Inc. (publisher of the Veritech collections), to get more details on the collaboration and the Curieux de nature series.
