Business Service Estrie (SAE) is launching a new bilingual agricultural skills training program in Cowansville this fall with the goal of addressing the labor shortage in the agricultural sector in Brome-Missisquoi.
SAE is a regroupment of the five school centres in the Eastern Townships, including the Eastern Townships School Board. Professionals that work with SAE offer different training opportunities to businesses, but they also support professional programs in the different vocational centres to help develop a skilled workforce that can contribute to the economic development of the region.
William Savary, SAE project coordinator for Haute-Yamaska and Brome-Missisquoi, explained to CIDI that the 525-hour agricultural skills training program will be offered by SAE’s team of professionals in Cowansville at Campus Brome-Missisquoi (CBM) and on local farms that SAE will be collaborating with for the program.
