The Community Singers raised funds over the Christmas season that will go towards food programs that benefit students at Knowlton Academy (K.A.) and Waterloo Elementary school.
Recognizing that there are issues with food insecurity in the area, members of the Community Singers recently came together to put on two separate concerts in support of the breakfast program at K.A., and the lunch program and other educational activities at Waterloo Elementary School.
The Community Singers is a choir made up of people from Cowansville, Dunham, Knowlton, and several other Township communities. Together, they put on concerts to support causes that are important to them and/or the community.
Jessica Brown, member of the Community Singers and volunteer with the breakfast club program at K.A., told CIDI that the needs at K.A. are high and that she is “amazed” by how much food the breakfast program goes through on a monthly basis.
