Canada Works Summer Student Program

Community radio station CIDI 99.1 FM in Knowlton, Quebec has job openings for two summer students. The positions are available to those full time high school, CEGEP or university students returning to school in the fall. Candidates must be between the 15 and 30 years of age and be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

The following two positions are available:

Radio Music Librarian

Job Description: 

The candidate will assist with the review and the development of the CIDI music library, digitize CDs for broadcast and ensure that all music has been properly “mp3 tagged”.

Research artists and determine if the music meets Canadian content requirements.

Help seek out new musicians with the aim of enhancing Canadian content.

Qualifications: Studies in Library Science, Musicology or broad knowledge of recorded music would be an asset.

Community Outreach Agent

Job Description: The candidate will survey people in the communities served by CIDI with the aim of determining the appeal/effectiveness of the station’s programming and prepare a report on the results obtained. 

Represent CIDI 99.1 FM at various community events during their tenure.

Assist in the development of a community awareness program.

Qualifications: Must be outgoing and fluently bilingual. Studies in Social Science Research and Methods would be an asset.

Both positions start on July 2^nd, 2018 for a period of 7 weeks, 30 hours per week (flexible schedule). Salary to be discussed.
